Certified SolidWorks Instructor

A full time member of the mechanical design profession since 1988, Charley Leonard’s well-rounded background brings added value and performance to any team he serves. Working closely with a vast array of talented engineers and designers who willingly shared their knowledge and experience, Charley himself became a sought-after design professional early in his career.

Charley has been involved in developing a wide range of products, as borne out in his resume. If you have visited world famous theme parks, you likely have been entertained by animatronic figures which Charley has been privileged to play a key role in designing and documenting. Among the many others over the years have been a lightweight breast pump, a head-mounted apparatus for visual field testing, a specialized portable orbital welder, a high powered handheld adjustable-focus searchlight, a multi axis x-ray inspection system for printed circuit boards, environmental handlers for testing memory and logic chip, acid reprocessors for use in wafer fabrication, custom control panels for ships and oil drilling rigs,  emergency roadside call boxes in Los Angeles County,  as well as varied products for the aviation and construction industries, among others.

As we, an industry of change, continue to advance the efficiency with which we develop and document products and manage their metadata, the importance of clear and accurate representation will  remain. As is the case with many of the more effective designers, Charley has extensive experience not only in design for manufacturing, but along with it, fast, accurate, and easy-to-read assembly and detail work. This knowledge carries forward and continues to evolve.

Whether in designing products, building CAD models, drafting, training, product data management, or a combination or extension of these, Charley is looking forward to working with you.
