Participated in the mechanical design and documentation of animatronic figures for a world-famous theme park in Southern California.  Installed and administered PDM Workgroup, and served as point person for all matters related to SolidWorks and product data management, while continually contributing mechanical design.  As the design of the figures matured, gradually became the main engineering liaison to the manufacturing team as the figures were built and final changes were made.  Continually maintained all CAD models and drawings for complete as-built documentation packages.

Customer purchased technology and SolidWorks files for a modification kit for private aircraft from the company who originally developed it. I went through the extensive set of SolidWorks 2005 files, correcting problems with the models so that they can be used in production.

Developed configurable SolidWorks assembly model representing a typical spiral conveyor system. Variables such as belt width, belt radius, tier pitch, number of tiers, number of legs, drive mechanism size, and so on, can be adjusted to give the look and overall dimensions of the custom system that would suit a given customer's requirements.

SpectraSensors – SolidWorks Consultant – August 2005 to October 2005

Completed the design and documentation of a unit which is used for testing Arsenic levels in water, using Laser Spectroscopy technology. Rapidly brought the design from early concept stage to fully-designed-and-documented beta test unit.

Assisted engineers new to the use of SolidWorks with best-practices advice and help with setting up the use of various productivity-enhancing aspects of SolidWorks, including Toolbox.

Served on design team, developing a high-powered hand-held searchlight.

Built and maintained overall mechanical layout in SolidWorks.

Delta Design  – Mechanical Designer – February 2000 to August 2003

Served on design teams, developing memory chip handlers (test equipment).

Served in Continuous Product Improvement department, designing and documenting retrofit kits for use by customers and field service personnel.

Designed and documented a pneumatic board-marking mechanism which uses a disposable paint pen and de-caps the pen when it comes down to mark a bad board and re-caps it when it returns.

Designed several custom fixtures to accommodate the loading of odd-sized printed circuit boards, including SIMMs, into an automated inspection system.

Designed packaging for several control panels.

Completed all assembly drawings for a prototype circuit board inspection system containing 3 axes and over 1000 parts.
